The ideal candidate will collaborate with the Product Owner, Subject Matter Experts, Clients, and Development team to create solutions to user-centered design problems. The individual gathers and documents business requirements, then designs user flows and user interface concepts that solve those requirements in a digital experience that is organized, efficient, and engaging. The position will be a combination of the Business Analyst and User Experience roles in product development and will have a strong creative voice on how the software solves customers’ problems.

Essential Functions

  • Designing and documenting user work flows to meet product requirements
  • Designing and documenting user interfaces to implement user work flows
  • Gathering and organizing product feature requirements
  • Translating and simplifying requirements into user stories

Education and Experience Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent educational experience in Interactive Design, Information Systems, or other relevant area of study.
  • 3-5 years’ experience as a Business Analyst professional with a proven track record of success in managing requirements.
  • Experience in the software development life cycle.
  • Experience in the utility industry, engineering design, and/or CAD software is a plus.
  • Previous UX/UI experienced preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication, including technical writing skills
  • Modeling techniques and methods
  • Knowledge of user-centered design methodologies
  • Familiarity with prototyping tools such as Visio, OmniGraffle, HTML/CSS/Javascript
  • Familiarity with graphical editing tools like Adobe InDesign is a plus.
