Position Summary

As a Software Engineer I, you will be working with a team to implement new features and enhancements for Bentley’s SPIDA product portfolio which includes industry-leading structural analysis and cloud asset management solutions for electric and telecommunication utilities. You will need a strong ability and desire to learn new technologies, APIs, and design patterns. Independence, problem-solving, and craftsmanship are a must. You will have opportunities to learn from and work closely with more senior developers.

Our ideal candidate will be someone who has personal, professional, or educational experience with a project running on a cloud platform.

Location: This position is remote based from a home office with a preference in the Columbus, Ohio area

Requirements:

  • 4-year degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • Background in full stack web development
  • Knowledge of good coding practices
  • Knowledge of Linux

 

Highly Preferred Skills:

  • Agile Methodologies and SDLC
  • Languages and Frameworks: Javascript, Java, Groovy, Grails, JSON, NodeJS, EmberJS, SQL, Hibernate, Spring
  • REST or SOAP Web Services
  • Cloud Computing and Security Best Practices
  • Technologies: Docker, Postgresql
  • Test Driven Development
  • Requires sitting or standing at will while performing work on a computer. The role requires communication with managers, peers, and other colleagues of the company in person (on occasion), and by utilizing Microsoft Teams chat, calling and meeting functions.
  • This role requires infrequent travel to a Bentley office location post COVID.
